Wicked Garden
Last summer, after visiting the Golden Gate Park’s Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco California, I decided to create a series of illustrations about carnivorous plants and poisonous fungi. Inspired by botanical drawings from the 1800’s I started sketching and working in Illustrator and Photoshop (^__^) today I finished the first four illustrations…YAY!
Plate No. 1 ::: Scientific Name: P. crassifolia – Winter Rossete
Evil Garden
Evil flowers dance and sing in this dark garden. They are protecting the secret treasures of the night. Don’t be fooled by their cuteness if you disturb them they will attack.
Dark Pixies
These little pixies love to dance in the forest while they feed from bubble gum flowers and marshmallow clouds!
Toxic Pesticides: flower t-shirt
YAYA, the Youth and Young Adult Network of the National Farm Worker Ministry is an organization that supports farm workers who are organizing for equality and justice. I created 3 t-shirts for one of their campaigns that was seeking to promote awareness of pesticides in food.
85% of our fruits and vegetables are hand picked and unfortunately farm workers are exposed to these toxic pesticides which cause them rashes, illness and birth defects.
Enchanted Forest
The wicked forest is a place of magic and danger. It can be home of monsters, witches and magical creatures. At night strange things can happen, plants and trees can become animated, fairies awake into the night and creepy sounds echo through the woods.
